Sumner vs Puyallup
I have covered 37 games so far this fall. Saturday’s 4A Semi-Final, was easily the best game I have seen this season!
I’ve also been to a lot of Sumner vs Puyallup football. There were some memorable games along the way, but this one will top my list. Some of the best players in 4A, in arguably the toughest league in the state, were on that field. Win or lose, everybody was entertained in the packed stadium.
Sumner started with two quick scores, but Puyallup kept the score tight until near the end when Sumner had a two TD lead again with minutes to go. Puyallup did have a final score to reduce Sumner’s lead to one touchdown as time was running out.
Final Score - Sumner 42 - Puyallup 35

Photo note: I tend to shoot tight, and often it’s my downfall. Part of the reason is I want to see in the helmet. The other reason is to lose unsightly backgrounds. Every high school stadium has something that I’d rather not have in the background. It can be school busses, porta-potties, sheds, homes, businesses, advertising etc. Nothing is better than getting a sightline like this, and I’m glad I was smart enough to catch this series with a bit wider perspective.
